Welcome to Guinea Pig Breeder Relay Service, referred to as GPBR. This is a sign-on form for volunteer runners. If you sign on our "run list", you will be able to reap the cavy exchange program benefits without shipping costs, waiting long periods of time to increase or sell off stock, increase your sales market, and decrease the undue stress on stock bought on by shipping. At this time, we are accepting all volunteers willing to run, including non-breeders who only wish to add family pets.

NOTE: This form is sent via e-mail and is as secure as an e-mail. If you would rather not send this information over the Internet, please feel free to print this form and mail it to the address at the bottom of this page. Those e-mailing this form, will be immediately put on our "run list". Please read and agree to all legal terms at the bottom of this document before filling out and signing. Rules

To have stock run for you to a buyer, you must sign on as a runner as well.

For each one run we do for your stock, you reciprocate with one run for another.

You agree to exercise maximum care with your stock and others.

You agree not to ship sick or ailing stock.

You must agree to a MINIMUM of a 20-mile run to qualify for stock run for you.

Everyone is open to apply to join at this time.

When you get your call from us to reciprocate for a run, you will have three (3) chances to make it up to us.

GPBR holds final rights on deciding who will be accepted as a runner.

GPBR holds final and absolute rights to dismiss any runners, at any time for any reason.

 

People wishing to use both stock moving service and volunteer for running service, please sign in BOX 1 AND BOX 2 of the contracts below.

VOLUNTEER RUNNER CONTRACT

Guinea Pig Breeder Relay, hereinafter referred to as "GPBR" is a not for profit volunteer-run operation. GPBR is instated to assist breeders and buyers wishing to transfer guinea pigs, hereinafter referred to as "stock", from state to state through the use of volunteer drivers, with minimized stress to the guinea pigs, and without shipping costs. GPBR functions in "four-state" relay groups comprised of individuals who offer their driving services to breeders moving stock to other states within the four-state areas. For state groupings, please contact GPBR officers. Individuals volunteering to drive stock are hereinafter referred to as "runners". GPBR stock moves are referred to as "runs". GPBR operates on a service-for-service approach based on an honor system that asks each person for whom stock is run to reciprocate with a run for another. Each volunteer signing with GPBR is asked to perform one run for each run GPBR performs for the volunteer. Runs can be redeemed at any time at the discretion of GPBR, but in respect to runner’s daily schedules, GPBR agrees to make an effort to accommodate runner(s) by adjusting run dates on weekends or providing alternate run dates. GPBR will offer three runs to choose from to volunteer runners.

  1. I agree that GPBR is non-profit. There is no charge for running stock, time and gas is donated by volunteers and all parties involved agree not to hold GPBR responsible for any and all fees incurred by a run.
  2. I understand that GPBR is comprised of careful and caring individuals, and by joining GPBR I agree to the following subsections:
  1. Stock is to be handled with maximum care and safety.
  2. Stock is to be delivered as sold and physically unaltered by runner.
  3. Runner’s responsibility includes assuring the health and well being of stock tended to through the runs, this is to include watering, feeding, and cleaning cages as necessary if no instructions are provided, or as directed by breeder from whom stock originates.
  4. Stock should be maintained in a temperate environment at no lower than 65o Fahrenheit and no higher than 80o Fahrenheit.
  1. I agree that GPBR is a runner service. GPBR retains the right to add or dismiss a volunteer runner at any time for any reason.
  2. I understand that GPBR makes an effort to schedule equal run times for all runners in a stock move, but GPBR reserves the right to keep all runs and distances confidential between GPBR, breeder, person(s) receiving stock, and runners.
  3. I understand that as a runner, my run distances are confidential and not to be disclosed at any time.
  4. I understand and agree that GPBR, as a list and runner tracking service, demands that all runs be scheduled or requested for scheduling through GPBR officers* ONLY as listed below.
  5. I understand that GPBR takes precautions to avoid accidents, however, should accidents or stock loss occur, all parties involved agree to hold GPBR and its volunteers forever harmless and forever NOT responsible for ANY loss or damage incurred in a run. GPBR and its volunteers will also be forever held harmless and not responsible for any damage or losses incurred to property, person, stock, or mental health of any party involved.

BREEDER CONTRACT

The Breeder Contract is to be signed by those wishing to move stock to a location through the use of GPBR.

  1. I agree GPBR is a volunteer not-for-profit run list service.
  2. I understand that GPBR takes precautions to avoid accidents, however, should accidents or stock loss occur, all parties involved agree to hold GPBR and its volunteers forever harmless and forever NOT responsible for ANY loss or damage incurred in a run. GPBR and it volunteers will also be forever held harmless and not responsible for any damage or losses incurred to property, person, stock, or mental harm of any party involved.
  3. I agree to provide 1 run, hereinafter referred to as "reciprocating run", of a minimum distance of 20 miles from my home location as listed in my application below, IN ANY DIRECTION at the discretion of GPBR, in return for each run performed for my stock moves.
  4. I agree that I will perform the reciprocating run within a period of six months, redeemable at the discretion of GPBR.
  5. I understand that GPBR will offer me no more than three (3) choices of runs to fulfill my reciprocating run debt. In addition, I understand that if I reject the first two run options for whatever, I will be required to take the third (4th) and final run offered or face dismissal as a GPBR runner, and receiver of stock.

 

BOX 2—I understand and accept ALL conditions outlined in paragraphs 1,2,3,4, and 5 in BREEDER CONTRACT as listed above.
